Stranger things just keep on happening…
The road of true love is never smooth. Seeking distraction today, from a poor page count of my own, I surfed others love stories and happened across this one.

To be totally honest with you, I love what he came up with, but what a crying shame that he couldn’t hold onto the string just that little bit longer!
What would you do in his loved one’s place? The same as she has done or would you forgive and forget and say “yes” anyway?
I’m inclined to think that perhaps the bride-to-be is not as harsh as has been depicted in this item, however, if she really is then perhaps the groom-to-be should be rethinking who he wants to spend the rest of his life with!
Oh my gosh. I agree with you on the bride - maybe she was just really mad and will get over it. If not… well, he should move on, poor guy. As to what happened… ACK! If I had a $12K ring I’d have that thing on a lead weight. I can’t believe a “strong gust” tore it away. [What kind of gust was it?!!? Was he still holding the string - b/c if so then the store should have tied it tighter!]
This is where my brain works differently - I hope he was planning on proposing to her in something like a panic room… because popping the balloon - the ring could have gone anywhere! It’s a cute idea but in practice, I’m a lot less confident. Although, that’s the least of his worries now. I hope there’s a follow up where some kind person finds the ring - although since it’s inside a balloon I’m afraid someone might just toss it. *wince*

Hey limecello! Oh heck, can you imagine it. Some kid finding the mostly deflated balloon in a field somewhere and thinking the ring is from a Christmas cracker or something and tossing it and taking the balloon home to reinflate! Argh!
Sometimes I do wonder about these stories though. Do you reckon that someone sits in the office with a whip over their writers and says “Right, today I want far-fetched and the most far-fetched story doesn’t have to buy a round of drinks on Friday night!”

Well, hey, that’s a match made in heaven.
snork.
And Yvonne, I think it’s too far-fetched to be made up. But I’m so glad he feels a right plonker. What did he think he was going to look like anyway - a grown man walking down the road clutching a balloon.
Personally, for all the would be fiancee’s faults, I think they deserve each other

That is sad story but she should be more understanding (even if it costs 12K)accidents do happen

I do hope he had insurance! Mind you, do you think the claim assessors would believe him?
